Event Details
In 2020, the United States Census will be conducted primarily online. To ensure a complete count of all Arkansans, public libraries across the state will play a key role providing online access to complete the Census Questionnaire. To help public libraries prepare to assist users with the Census Questionnaire, the Arkansas State Library will be providing a number of training sessions for public library staff.
Training is free and open to any members of the public as well as public library staff. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
Training will discuss how to guide patrons through the Census form online and cover useful information that patrons may have questions about such as non-traditional living arrangements like couch surfing, children living with grandparents or other relatives, and children who are away at college. Finally, we will discuss the privacy issues that crop up in regard to the Census and how responses to the Census will and will not be used.
