We condemn the mass shooting that occurred this past weekend in Buffalo, N.Y., as an act of domestic terrorism aimed at Black and brown community members.

We acknowledge the racialized motivations behind the violence are part of a long legacy of racism that continues to impact all communities today.

We share in the collective grief for the 10 lives lost and support community members whose sense of safety and belonging has been threatened by these and countless other actions.

We invite you to be part of the solution by speaking out against racism in all forms and taking meaningful actions to affirm our shared humanity in schools, workplaces, city government and the entire region. If you haven’t already signed the NWA Leadership Pledge, join the 224 organizations and businesses in NWA committed to purposefully addressing systemic racism in the communities in which we operate.
